Well, didn't Atlas carry the world on his shoulders? And men with elephantiasis have to deal with this, um, problem. Surely the great Becks can handle it (no pun intended)...but what an icky visual!! __________________ "Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life...When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. Reply with quote | #64 | Ah, yessss, but as Ayn said, at least Atlas could "shrug" if he opted to relieve himself of the weight and bother...
Mr. Beckham's snippy "option" is far less poetic and far more painful to consider...even as a Rand-om metaphor. Sorry guys. __________________ + Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving. Reply with quote | #66 | JK,
Oooh! You're so right, I'm sorry. I'll be he DOES have cute footies, too! He probably pedis on a regular basis. 'Doubt his feet are golden, though. That might make it rather hard to do all that running around and disrobing that the does. Oh, and doesn't he kick stuff, too?
I kid. __________________ + Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving. Reply with quote | #67 | I was particularly pleased to see the Steelers beat the local hometown Redskins in NFL football over the weekend. I wait all year for NFL football -- and now it's baaaaaaaaaack!!!!
Other teams to despise -- the Ravens (just up the road in Baltimore), the Eagles (intrastate rivalry, whom we play this weekend), and of course ... the Cowboys. My favorite teams are the Steelers and whoever is playing the Cowboys. You can't graduate from high school in Pittsburgh without signing an affidavit that says the same. __________________ April

OK, I'll behave. April, I gottah admit, I'm a Cleveland girl...born and raised on the Browns. So, I believe that puts us at NFL odds. But, since I haven't followed 'em since Brian Sipe, I guess I won't hold your Steelers colors against ya. Do ya not like the Ravens because of the Modell/Cleveland connection, or whah? I'm just curious. __________________ + Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving. The Browns background history doesn't help, but honestly, I don't like the Ravens because their fans are completely obnoxious and the teammates disrespectful and arrogant. Being from Cleveland's ok ... but you should be in my house when the Steelers play the Bengals ... coz Greg grew up in Cincinnati!

BTW every team has obnoxious fans. i am a Bears fan, but i tend to not talk trash. i let my boys do my talking for me. myself and asiacal have a nice friendly bet on the Bears/Chargers game in week 1. that and a bet on a CFL game. i bet him that the Calgary Stampeders would lose by 20 points or more in 3 games in a row. __________________ a proud 10%'er! |

I know the Ravens were the Browns originally -- that's the whole point! We hated the Browns so the Ravens are despised by default. Having the 'new' Browns to despise too is just a bonus __________________ April

Reply with quote | #74 | I've heard two different stories about how the team came to be called the Browns ... one is that the owner at the time was named Brown, and so the team became his namesake.
The second reason shouldn't be repeated in polite company. __________________ April

And pink is the new black. QED, is pink the new brown? And if so, what is brown doing now? __________________ "Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life...When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the food and for the joy of living.
