3. Pearl Jam
4. Rage Against the Machine
5. U2
6. Metallica
7. Flaming Lips
8. My Morning Jacket
9. The Hold Steady
10. Arcade Fire
11. The Raconteurs
12. Wilco
13. Yeah Yeah Yeahs
14. Red Hot Chili Peppers
15. Gogol Bordello
16. Kings of Leon
17. Muse
18. Dave Matthews Band
19. Tool
20. LCD Soundsystem

I must be getting old, I've only heard of six of these bands.
I'm not even 40 yet.  It will only get worse.

I l00k at many STATS (festivlas, tour income, # of shows played) and found that the list is n0t a list in order, just a list of bands touring n0w that are popular ... I do not like many of these bands but I believe it can only get better!!

Stewart Copeland is awesome!

Great drummer... I have preferred his work in some of the newer bands though (Oysterhead).. seems like Sting is a bit old hat

Plus Sting (to you use the vernacular "n00b") definately has nothing on John!!

Hwy Bill, pete w and myself decided to miss the Police and instead r0ck out hard-core with JW and AsiA.. I went to see The Police the night after AsiA in Chicago and although it was in historic Wrigley Field which was kinda magical the highlight of the show was "Walking On The m00n" and that was the 3rd song played!! the band lacked energy and also the ticket prices were very very high and I felt this bothered a lot of people... I went to the show without a ticket and ended up finding a phan who wanted to sell the ticket he had for a cheap price because it was close to show time.. lucky me... I still thought it was a ok sh0w!

I used to have a CD single of that song back in high school.  It actually had a remix of that song on the single too.  PC will be happy to know that I purchased that CD single at his brother's record store in Tulsa!

that or the original by Leadbelly

Well,Sarge--if Aaron's dad Anglicized while in Scotland, lucky he didn't Anglicize the first names, otherwise he could have been 'Jimmy Kaplan'. Could America have taken
"Hoedown' by someone with that name.

Although I don't listen to many of the newer bands and performers, preferring to stick with the classic rock I grew up with, there are a few that I do like:

Kaiser Chiefs
Franz Ferdinand
AFI
Bowling For Soup
Fountains of Wayne
Fall Out Boys
Future86
Alexz Johnson

I agree with you (tend to stick with my classic rock), but I'll just add a few more:

Guster
OK Go
Keane
Panic! At The Disco

I hate to follow a post with another but I was lucky enough to score an advanced copy of Springsteen's new album,"Magic."
Those of you who don't get the Boss, just ignore the post.
Those who are fans,be prepared for that great E Street Band sound, great harmonies and great hooks in every song.
Not as good as 84's "Born in The USA," but as good as the other E Street Band albums and better than most.
