Reply with quote | #39 | Watched a bit of 'The Other Boleyn'. At first I thought it was going to be about Irving, but when it settled into the story, one thing I noticed was that Natalie Portperson is more than a soupcon hirsute ,and at one stage when Henry VIII is visiting her unconventionally ,it's quite difficult to tell where his beard ends, and her back begins. |

Reply with quote | #40 | Arar...well, I've gotta believe that's God's way of evening things out, Sir Wetton -- just a little. As a woman speaking, thank goodness there's something slightly imperfect with Ms. Portman! I mean, she's gorgeous, talented, intelligent (Harvard grad), self-secure, wealthy, self-made, and seemingly humble about it all. A little hairiness is an instant 'sigh of relief' to those of us apparently less gifted. And, how was the movie otherwise? I've not yet seen it... __________________ + Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving. She probably got a little too friendly with Chewbacca during the Star Wars films!!! __________________

Reply with quote | #42 | Not enough sex,Amie. At the risk of appearing stereotypically shallow, if you've seen the recent artsy TV series Henry VIII starring Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as the vain, priapic, delusional psychopath Hank8, JRM kind of nails it,and--given the beauteous raw materials they have in Mss.Johansson and Portman---ample opportunities for fleshy romps are simply squandered. An interesting historic footnote ( apart from one of the lines from 'Twice the Man I Was' being taken from a scenic image in the TV series) is that when the real Henry died, his syphillitic, bloated and diseased carcass was taken by carriage across London to his State Funeral . It was a very hot day in August, and on the way to Westminster Abbey, the mass of rotting matter in his distended gut actually exploded. |

Reply with quote | #43 | Well, is there ever enough? Oops, was that my out loud typing?! Solly. Not. Nope, haven't seen it, so wallow in shallow at will, Sir Johan.
And, ummmmmm...thanks for the historically yucky 'gut-note' that I was not the least bit prepared for directly after your "fleshy romps" dictum....it ranks right up there with the historically uncouth young lady you noted a few days ago. But, I think your Hank8 won. But then again, rheumor has it that he didn't like to lose...
