I haven't seen "The Other Boleyn Girl" yet but I want to! I've read the book (and all of Philippa Gregory's books) several times. She is one of my favorite living authors  ~ her books are so much fun and so wicked that I can't put them down!!! I met her in October when she came to town to endorse her book "The Other Queen" (it's about Mary Queen of Scots and Bess of Hardwick) ~ I was so thrilled that it was all I could think about for days and days

I just watched this a couple of weeks ago. I had to laugh at the unconventional moment, I forgot about that . I liked Natalie Portman in Goya's Ghosts with Stellan Skarsgard (that's a great movie, well any Skarsgard movie is to me). After seeing the Goya movie, it was the reason I watched Boleyn

You should have reminded me to send you more official sauce. Did you choose Suicidal or Challenge the Cook? Only here do newscasters waste time making promos that there may be a *gasp* shortage. Turns out to be a supply/demand price increase. Truly newsworthy, non?

I'm surpized Bruce didn't perform Born in The USA in the Halftime Show, but he and the East street Band did a great performance.

Gina--there's a really hairy visual moment when Anne is kneeling down praying in the little chapel, and Henry sits down behind her. Maybe that's when he gets the idea of parking his jeep by the tradesman's entrance. But, I digress---since I went to sleep last night it has been snowing here, and there's about 3" of snow everywhere. Yippee.

How typical is that amount of snow for your part of England? I always assumed you get a lot of rain and not much of the white stuff. At any rate, it sounds beautiful. It is supposed to be 80 here today. I miss winter.

When I lived in California,I missed the seasonal change, too. I'd drive to Wrightwood for the day on my own, ski, and get re-charged with winter wonder. It rarely snows here,so when it does,it's pandemonium---but lovely to behold.

Johan you'd love the winter we're having here. 60 straight days with some form of precipitation mostly snow. The skiing has been the best it's been in years, but the daily commute has been brutal on many occasions . FYI I live about 45 miles from where you wrote "Parallel Worlds".

Wow, rough winter all 'round, eh?  Our precip here is FINALLY thawing today, yay....my entire yard and street has been a white skating rink for days, and the kids had three (argh) consecutive 'snow days' last week -- there was loads of sledding 'round here.  The ice-covered trees sure looked gorgeous, though...

It hasn't been fun. I don't mind snow, but I hate wind, and we get it ripping right off Lake Erie which knocks the temps down several degrees. I just saw our forecast for this week.....we have a high of 8 for Weds.....and that's farenheit!

Sincere apologies to all our friends across the pond for sharing our crummy winter weather with you. Please stay safe and warm over there. This is one of the harshest winters I can remember, though we haven't had one of those 30-inch snowstorms (yet). Plus there's the d--n ice -- er, I mean ice dams -- on my roof causing water damage inside. Anyone want to join me in strangling a certain groundhog today...?

Seems like this whole winter has been like the movie "Groundhog Day" now that you mention it...snow, ice, wind all the time, everyday! So universe, if you're listening, I'll be expecting Andie Macdowell to show up at my house when all this is over.
