Reply with quote | #1 | I've arrived home from Bratislava! A great concert by Yes (not much great the sound), I could even meet them after the concert....but that's another story, I won't write the review here - not the right forum! I'd like to ask Johan how much is important eye-contact between the people you can see from the stage and them, looking at you. I'll explain what happened to me. I was on front row, nearly in front of Steve Howe. I was clapping to him, there for him, to listen to him playing. Looking at his hands, at his fingers. And into his eyes. And at some point he realized, he saw me clapping for him and he looked at me and had an expression like "thank you". I went on, he made and expression as to say "I'm flattered". No joking. It wasn't a product of my imagination. I asked my friend who was next to me, he agreed, Steve realized about me! And I was so happy! Tell me Johan please, how does this apply to you? I mean: do you realize about some fans who are there for you and not for the whole band? Can you feel it? Has it anything to do with eye-contact (as I think) or is it a "feeling"? Thank you! __________________ Love,

Reply with quote | #2 | Well he knows when I'm there.Flashing Light shirts seem to get attention.
At a Steve Howe solo show I yelled out Sole Survivor and he says back yes I'll be playing some Asia later.
I have him singing Heat Of The Moment on Tape, which isn't too bad. |

Reply with quote | #3 | I can't see very much of the audience, but I will acknowledge someone if I see them, but most people go to an Asia show to see Steve or Carl anyway, and that's a fact. |

oh, I'd go to see you, first and above all. But maybe I'm the exception for the Asia-rule? __________________ Love,

Reply with quote | #7 | I have to really agree somewhat with Nerkoe Johan. You're the voice of the band so I think that a lot more people are there to see you than you think. I may really enjoy watching Steves playing but at the end of the shows it's been him and you that I've really wanted to meet. I still haven't yet and that really irks me. I also think ASIA fans know that you and Steve don't do the after show signings as much as Carl and Geoff so that also makes you guys more of a treat when it does happen. |

I carry that label with pride and honor, and that includes YOU, John (and let's not forget dear Geoff!)

I actually remember when you walked out onstage at the Coach House in May 2008. There was some guy that was in front of the stage and he jumped in the air shouting when you walked out and you gave him a huge beaming smile and a thumbs up ~ that was so cool to see!

Who, and/or who? Huh. Fact schmact. Ya know what Ms. Angelou says, Sir Wetton, "There's a world of difference between truth and facts. Facts can obscure the truth..." __________________ + Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving. Reply with quote | #12 | I'll be honest... I went to the Asia show in Warsaw in April to see Steve and Geoff... But now I would be coming to see the band as a whole... And in 2 days I'm coming to see UK as a whole... I hope I'll get the front row __________________ Concerts 2009: 01/03 The Dubliners Wroclaw; 04/04 Asia Warsaw; 30/06 Jon Anderson Warsaw; 05/07 Rick Wakeman Plock; 30/10 Yes Katowice; 04/11 John Wetton/Eddie Jobson Warsaw

I'll make no bones about the fact that I love Asia but if Johan weren't there, I wouldn't be there. Speaking from personal experience, Johan does acknowledge and if possible rewards his fans for their support. Yep, I'm talking about the thumb pick, bay-be!!! And pictures, too!!! |

Reply with quote | #14 | John that can't be true.Everyone that did attend the Yes /ASIA show in Muskogee that I spoke to or over heard, thought ASIA was the Greatest compare to Yes minus Jon Anderson.
This is why there were only 500 or 600 people at that show, I kid you not. Plus the fact that it was not in Tulsa was another reason for the small crowd.
Please try the Brady Theater in Tulsa next time.
Love Always

Johan, you are ASIA, your voice as an instrument in the band, cannot be duplicated, replaced, or diminished...without you very few people would go to a concert. |
