After this explanation of prog rock, I wish to say something, but remembering
John's advice of "think before you post"....silence.

I just had to read the page again and I am more hysterical than the first time.  The caption under the focus video.  The ipod capacity.  How to name your band.  "elves and sh*t"  -- made even funnier by the fact that my husband *loves* that album and, suffice it to say, I don't!  The Nick Cage of rock.    That page is seriously one of the funniest things I have ever read.

"Classic progressive rock is an era defined predominantly by its artists' pants.  Conversely, modern progressive rock is characterised by a distinct lack of pants."  Yay!!  (Except, of course, for leather pants, which are always welcome.)

I'm going to have to think twice about the name of my new prog band then ...

Out goes

The Twelve Elven Mystics of the Galactic Emporium of Deep Fat-Fried Mars Barsoomers

And in comes

A Dozen Greasy Pixies

Short, snappy, and no songs over 28 minutes ... it's what the kids want

Thanks for posting this as a new thread - I popped it in the Random Notes III thread on Tuesday where, as a non sequitur, it languished. Totally worth the read - and nice to prove that prog fans aren't humourless.

Cheers,
A.
